Last week Kim and Emerson and I were in California. Originally the trip was planned so we could attend my Grandma’s memorial service, but we thought we’d extend the stay to take some time to visit people we knew in San Diego and Los Angeles.

Emerson was a champion flier. He fell asleep for take off and landing both directions, and didn't fuss much in between. He's such a good baby.

He was still a good baby through the drive down to San Diego (thanks, Dad, for the use of your car!) and all of the quick visits we made down there with Kim's friends and family.

After a few days in San Diego, we made it back up to LA, where we stayed with our friends Todd and Cindy, and their daughter, Suzy. Emerson was still in good spirits.

Kim had her traditional Kabuki lunch with her friend Alex, and apparently out of the dozen odd pictures they took, Emerson refused to look in the same direction as Alex.

Suzy's grown quite a bit since the last time we saw her. She took to calling me 'Georgia' for some reason, so that seems to be my new nickname.

On Friday night we had a big family dinner at my Dad's house. Emerson had worked up quite the cold by this time, but he was still a trooper and full of smiles. We started out passing a bottle of Purell behind Emerson, but eventually gave up.
